No dog restrictions on Parton Beach, and you'll find local shops and a pub just a short walk from the beach (on the other side of the railway line).
A tiny town on the Furness peninsula that's surprisingly unknown, and well worth a visit.
Lovely Lakeland pub with dog friendly accommodation. Rooms very clean and dogs welcome in bar. Food - hearty and excellent. Walks to the fells or to Keswick from the inn.
Homely village pub with tasty home-cooked food. Access to the dog walk needs a bit of road walking but then you're in for a treat of a walk with dog swimming in the lovely River Eden.
A fantastically remote and wild space for wildlife, and dog walkers. Definitely worth bringing binoculars and an app to identify the plants and insect life here.
A wonderful dog-friendly cafe and we were so grateful to take refuge here in a savage summer downpour. The walk was lovely too until the great soaking.
A former railway sidings, now covered in a birch wood and popular with local dog-walkers
Another enormous sandy beach with hardly a soul enjoying it. So ideal for dogs who like a lot of personal space. You can see Scotland across the water.
Walk around the lake, or head into the valley behind, or just take the dog for a paddle - there's plenty of choice here, and the paths are mostly manageable all year round - you'll need to scramble...
A real hidden gem just outside the national park and there's plenty to do here and no crowds.
An enormous big beach, where dogs can enjoy an off-lead run around on mile after mile of sand when the tide is out. Very atmospheric with clouds and the Lake District hills behind.
