Exotic forest dog walk near Dunoon, Scotland

Description

Whether you're a tree enthusiast or not, this is one arboretum that is a real 'must see' in the area. Don't expect neatly labelled trees here, what you get is groves of exotic foliage basking in the warmth of the gulf stream. Dogs won't care at all, so on this walk let them take second place while you admire the surroundings!

GPS coords for car park: 55.9984, -4.9460 What3Words: ///insurance.followers.chops  The entrance is signed but it's easy to miss as the track up to the parking is between two houses and it looks like a residential driveway.

Walk

Several waymarked trails of different lengths lead through the forest.  We chose the Eucalyptus Trail and everyone loved it. You get incredible scents of spicy eucalyptus mingled with musky conifers that we hadn't expected at all. Even in the rain this was a great walk and the views over the water would be amazing on a sunny day. We just got mist and part of a low hanging cloud to admire!
