Dog-friendly pub and dog walk within walking distance of the M1 Services at Junction 23A! Better to drive there though, and really get away from the motorway in a small village that's somehow clung on to its rural identity.
Turn left out of the pub car park, walk up to a crossroads and go straight on with the church on your right. This is a no-through road and it's a one mile track that's fully accessible in dry weather. It gets muddy for mobility scooters/buggies after a lot of rain. The track eventually gets you to the Services (and this has a separate listing but it's the same walk) so you'd be wise to turn around well before that. Lovely easy walk through countryside, and sometimes you can hardly hear the traffic noise from the M42.
