Really close to the A14 Junction 51, this is a handy stop with the dog. There's plenty of off-lead stretching space, and dogs can sniff in a nice mix of grass and rougher wildflower banks.

To be fair, dogs aren't exactly the priority here. But - Jem got a fabulous welcome wherever we went, and this is a lovely place to take a break from the A14 in summer.

There's a lot more going on here than you may think at first. The park has over 200 acres, and the high point for us was the arboretum, with some totally stunning trees.
National Trust property with extensive grounds. There are restrictions for dogs, however this still leaves a massive amount of walkies space. This is within easy reach of Junction 42 of the A14.
A really friendly pub in the middle of Ipswich where dogs are as welcome as people. With a lovely park for walkies nearby, this is an oasis in the heart of a busy town.
Very easy to find from the A14, this is an excellent dog-friendly alternative to the nearby Services and children have a good outdoor play area and menu too.

Dogs are welcome on all of the beach in winter, and for the central beach area there are designated dog areas between May 1st and September 30th. These are signed and easy to find.
Thatched dog-friendly village inn, tidily placed behind a picket fence. This is on the A1120 tourist route and is a friendly and welcoming establishment. No dog walk unfortunately.
A former railway hotel, now upgraded to an award-winning Camra free house. Dogs get a good welcome, with bowls of fresh water provided.
You and your dog will be made very welcome at this homely and traditional pub just off the Harborough Road. Its kerb appeal isn't great, but once inside it's spacious, clean and friendly.
