A69 Woodland dog walk near Brampton, Cumbria
Popular woodland for dog walking, and easy to reach from the A69. On the day we were there the lake was shimmering with sunlight reflecting on damselfly wings and it was just gorgeous.

Popular local walk with a cracking view from the top. No matter how many times you clamber up the hill, the walk will always feel different.
Such a quiet and relaxing spot for a moment of calm with the dog. On a hot day the cool air and gently running stream is a welcome break from the heat.
A more open part of the forest, with broader paths and plenty of space for dogs to run around.
A real hideaway of a long sandy beach with no dog restrictions on the beach itself, and a locals' hidden gem.
Dogs on leads are welcome at this ruined monastery with a bit of a gloomy backstory. The cafe around the corner is excellent and spotlessly clean, with outside tables where dogs are welcome.
A perfect dog walk when you or the dog are in the mood for big open spaces and solitude. But probably not the dog walk for a foggy, wet day when it could be a bit spooky.
An easy walk on heath and woodland quite close to the A140
A chance to take a walk with the dog and visit this country pub set in a very pretty riverside village.
A relaxing linear walk on a former rail line is always good for dogs. No sheep, stiles or anything to cause problems. Here, naughty dogs will find the mudbath long before you spot it!
A former quarry that's slowly turning into a green and pleasant country park. It's still a work in progress and some of the paths are decidedly sharp on the paws.
Outstandingly different dog walk by marshes rich with wildlife and history. Definitely worth a special trip to see this and for the coffee and cakes too.
