Wonderful dog walk from Mottram Road in Stalybridge, up the road to the farm, through the farm up on to the hills is wonderful.
This was the last canal to be built in Britain except for the Manchester Ship Canal. Originally it was used to transport bricks from the various Slough brickworks.
Top class dog walking, and you're very likely to have a forest to yourself. It's a good walk on very wet days as the trees give some protection.
