Dalesway dog walk and dog-friendly pub, North Yorkshire
Once a busy coaching stop, the three large inns in this small village must have been a hub for news, gossip and the latest fashions from London in the 1700s.

Jem and I arrived wet, and a tiny bit grumpy truth to tell, and were totally won over by the lovely warm atmosphere and excellent sarnies here.
For a sense of the 'real' Yorkshire Dales this remote section of the Dales Way feels like a time capsule. Get your timing right, and a fine lunch and a welcome from the pub dog could be yours.
A perfect place for a bit of bummelling along the Thames path with the dog.
Village pub in a lovely location overlooking the village pond. Dogs get a good welcome and new owners have smartened the building up.
Beccles is a centre for boating on the Broads, and you'll see boats of all shapes and sizes moored along the quays here.
Modern pub with a nearby short stretch on fields for the dog. Good access and hard-surface paths.
Country pub with good reviews for the food and service. Dogs on leads are welcome in the bar. Look out for the church tower, it's very impressive.
We were expecting to find this pretty village to be surrounded by fields of lavender, and were looking forward to one of the most fragrant walk experiences ever.
A fabulous walk for people and dogs along the River Vienne. In 1947 the small village church here was the scene of a series of miraculous apparitions, in front of hundreds of witnesses.
Glorious heathland on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The River Ouse is nearby, and this is a great place for short or long walks.
When the dog needs greenery and trees rather than sand and sea, this circular reservoir walk is a good option. There's also a field for children's games, and swings etc for younger children.
