A354 doggiestop near Blandford Forum, Dorset
A rural hideaway, well worth exploring and maybe even tarrying longer than just a doggiestop. The dog-friendly accommodation looked spotlessly clean and very comfortable indeed.

A stunning piece of ancient history, as well as a great place for a dog walk not far from the A350. Perfect for families, dogs, history enthusiasts and anyone who loves a good view.
Another monumental moment of early community building, popular with local dog walkers. This is one of the best historic places in the country, well up there with Stonehenge.
Doggiestop on the A348, with an easy short walk for car-bound dogs. The pub looks as if it's sinking under the road, but they've put signs and flags out to make the entrance obvious.
Beautiful countryside location with plenty for all the family to enjoy for a whole day, and large enough for long quiet walks.
Lovely dog walk on safe bridle paths, and close to the A354. The pub was closed for its own holidays when we stopped by so it's a bit of an unknown.
Easy to find traditional and dog-friendly pub on the A30 near Shaftesbury.
Wildlife centre with a welcome for dogs, ample parking and easy access to lovely trails across the valley and through meadows. Workshops and courses take place here, as well as access to the reserve.
Homely village pub close to the A350 and with a very easy dog walk starting very close to the car park. No stiles/livestock and ideal for the travel-weary pooch.
Rural small pub with a peaceful feel and a very pleasant beer garden. A good summer stop just a few miles from the A35 near Dorchester.
Friendly, family run public house, welcomes dogs, owners have 2 dogs. Great food, and friendly locals and fantastic views from beer garden
Glorious walk with the dog on the Dorset Downs, with fantastic views. Luckily the walk starts at the top of the hill so no steep climbs involved here.
