To celebrate International Dog Day, the team behind the popular Higher or Lower Game has launched a brand-new game mode especially for dog lovers. The fun, fast-paced game challenges players to guess which dog breeds are searched for more often on Google, based on the latest global data.
Using Google search trends from June 2024 to July 2025, the research reveals which breeds truly have the world's attention online.
Perhaps surprisingly, the Cane Corso, an Italian Mastiff known for its guarding instincts and loyal temperament, takes the crown as the most Googled dog breed globally. The ever-popular Golden Retriever ranks second, while the powerful Rottweiler claims third place.
In the UK, it's a slightly different story with Cane Corso (1st), Boxer (2nd), and Cockapoo (3rd).
Gareth Evans, creator of the Higher or Lower Game, explained the inspiration behind the project:
"As a dog owner myself — with a cheeky Yorkshire Terrier called Ralph — I know how much joy our pets bring us. I wanted to create a game that dog lovers everywhere could enjoy, something fun to mark International Dog Day but also a little educational. It's a celebration of our four-legged friends and the breeds that capture people's hearts worldwide."
Guess which breeds rule Google — try the Higher or Lower Dog Game now.
