Heritage tearoom and walks near Stoke, Staffordshire A wonderful place to take a break from the A52 with a choice of fab dog walks, super tea rooms, plenty of parking and lots of heritage interest too. Loads of space for kids to let off steam too.
Nature reserve marsh walk with the dog and tea rooms, Essex Outstandingly different dog walk by marshes rich with wildlife and history. Definitely worth a special trip to see this and for the coffee and cakes too.
Patterdale dog-friendly pub, Cumbria A friendly pub with no delusions of grandeur and a happy and welcoming feel. Dogs are welcomed, as they should be in this valley that is the namesake of the Patterdale Terrier.

M5 Step onto the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Junction 14 A short stop here after the M5 feels a bit like time travel. And very relaxing it is too.
