Powfoot Beach - dog-friendly, Scotland

Description

Small car park on the left hand side just after you cross the bridge on entering the village of Powfoot. There are two options. To go left along the beach, walk back over the bridge and turn right past the houses. Follow the short road down into another small parking area and access the beach from one of two path options. To go right along the beach, walk along the grassed area next to the car park and look for the paths leading down to a lower path that follows the coastline. This path takes you past the hotel (great place for a meal) and runs between the access road for the holiday park and the beach. This walk has stunning views of the Solway Coast. At low tide you can venture out onto the ‘flats’ but just take care as there are some deep channels.
