A16 exit 38 National Forest dog walk near Guines, France
PremiumDescription
As well as clear and easy walking paths for an excellent walk with the dog, this forest is famous for 'Blanchard's Column'. It marks the place where French aeronaut Jean-Pierre Blanchard, together with his American co-adventurer Dr Jeffries, touched down from their successful channel crossing by hot air balloon in 1785 - the first ever!
Train-spotters will also relish the sight of Eurostar trains whizzing under the bridge just before the car park.
