This is a lovely walk on a lakeside path, with shade from the trees in hot weather (or cover from the rain). It's a popular dog walk for local dogs, and there's plenty of off-lead running space once you're away from the beach and children's playground.

The town of Vigeois is well worth a visit. The famous 12th century historian Geoffroy du Breuil was the abbot here, and his Chronicles are real historical humdingers - with tales of devilish possessions, bad behaviour in high society, and an insider's view of how the first crusade to Jerusalem was put together (think football!).
