Dog Rules

Dogs on leads welcome to join owners at the outside tables and indoor non-food area, at manager's discretion.

It's a functional doggie comfort break here, although there's a lot to be said for keeping your feet clean and un-muddy. Turn left from the Fox (Fox Lane) and then turn right at the corner Old Ham Lane (no through road). Dogs are fine off-lead here as far as the vehicle barrier.

To extend the walk, there will be the possibility of livestock. Pass through the gate by the vehicle barrier (dogs on leads, you're close to the A31) and bear left on a clearly trodden footpath. This is the route of the Castleman Trail. Cross a stram and carry on to reach the River Stour. Walk with the river on the left as far as a point opposite a church, and then turn round to return.
