Traditional pub with a Scandi minimalistic look and a zero-waste menu option. The dogs thought that meant large doggie bags for them, but the chef is too smart for that! Highly dog-friendly and the B&B rooms are really lovely.
Parking is opposite the pub
Turn right from the pub and then almost immediately turn right again and past a set of new houses. Bear right and take the access lane to Blackler Barton. At a fork, bear right and keep going until you cross over the river Hems and then meet a byway (this is half-a-mile from the pub). We turned left and walked with the river on the left for a further 10 minutes/half mile and then turned round to return the same way. It's an undemanding stroll with no stiles of livestock to be concerned about, and kind on the shoes too.
