A really dog-friendly pub in a charming village which is well worth exploring in its own right. The walk is as easy to follow as anyone could wish.
On-street parking. Dog-friendly B&B rooms.
|Pub or Cafe Address||
Church Close, Ashprington, TQ9 7UP
Open Tuesday to Sunday. Lunch served from 12 noon. Closed Mondays. For seasonal opening hours and food service times please check their website.
Dogs on leads welcome in the bar and outside tables. Dogs may also stay overnight.
Turn right out of the pub and follow the village road up a slope, passing the village church on your left. Take the next turning on the right on a hard-surfaced access lane (it is helpfully signed with a footpath post). The lane stays in good condition until you pass some large farm buildings, then it continues as an unmaintained farm track. This goes of for ages, eventually passing some woodland and reaching the River Dart. Not many will choose to walk that far, just turn back when ready.
