Wonderful combination of a large village with a number of restaurant/cafes with big outside terraces, and just a bit down the road there's a lake with lots of things to do, plenty of parking, and a highly dog-friendly atmosphere. Great for families.

You may notice one of the many statues of men on stilts.  Until a few hundred years ago this whole area was soggy marshland and only sheep could make any use of the land. So the shepherds used stilts to keep up with their flocks, and a sort of punting pole to keep their balance.
