Tarbert is likely to be your first stop on the Kintyre Peninsula if you cross by ferry, and a walk to the castle brooding over the harbour is an obvious and lovely way to get a feel for the place.

Details

The Tourist Info office is close to the harbour, with plenty of useful walking info.

Lots of places to get refreshments in Tarbert, and parking is easy around the harbour area.

There are colour coded waymarkers on the forest paths to help with the navigation.
