Bagnoles de l'Orne is a sweet little lakeside spa town - with an almost seaside atmosphere. Ice-cream parlours seem to be extremely popular. The town is surrounded by the Andaines Forest - and that's the place to walk the dog before you get to the town itself.
Lakeside strolls in the chateau gardens. Pretty architecture in the town. At the Arboretum: free parking, picnic tables (some covered)
This is a forest steeped in mystery - possibly even the beginnings of the Arthurian legend and the Holy Grail. From the car park you'll see any number of well-maintained tracks and paths leading into the forest, and this is a lovely spot to exercise the dog before making a visit to the charming town of Bagnoles de l'Orne.
