Barmouth dog walk, Gwynedd, Wales

Fun walk across the iconic bridge and into woodland. Unlike most walks in the area this one is completely hill-free!

Shops, pubs and parking in Barmouth.

Walk through the town, past the harbour and to the railway/footbridge across the Mawddog Estuary. Cross the bridge and go over the stile on the left at the end. Walk towards the trees with the estuary to your left. Walk through the woodland following footpath signs, around a group of houses, and then take the signed footpath at the start of a driveway. When you reach a fence, go through the gate and turn right - marked as a footpath. The path is easy to follow and it will bring you to a small lane. Turn right onto the lane and walk about 150 yards to the Mawddog Trail. The Arthog car park is here. Turn right onto the trail. Walk for approx 10 minutes until you see two gates on either side of the track. Turn right through the gate, this is an unmarked bridleway, and you'll get back to the group of houses. Detour around these on the footpath and return to the bridge.
