The small town of Berck is active all through the year and so you'll find plenty of open shops and cafes whenever you go. The beach is enormous and hugely popular with dog walkers.

Berck prides itself on family-friendliness, and the traditional carousel at the sea front is a gem.  The best-selling true story of Jean Dominique Bauby 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly' was both written and filmed here. A kite festival with sand yachts and all sorts of wind-powered contraptions takes place every April.
