Intimate woodland that makes a lovely doggiestop off the A42, or the A511 too. The atmosphere is light and airy, and it's a great place to enjoy a quiet moment with the pooch.
Free parking. Benches placed at intervals. No dog bins - please take waste away with you. No refreshments here.
The woods were planted in the early 1990s to cover the remains of part of a colliery, apparently known as the 'Bug and Wink' which must have a tale behind it? It's now looked after by a team of local volunteers.
You'll find a number of paths forming a circular route inside the woods.
