Dogs love this country park on the outskirts of Buxton. It's a handy place for local dog-walkers, as well as being a safe and easy walking option if you're staying in the area. Stone-age people were the earliest residents here, and the 19th century Solomon's Temple was built on top of a neolithic burial mound.
There's a caravan/camping site in the centre of the park, using the site of a disused quarry. It's a Caravan Club site and open from Easter to October. More details: 01663 746222
Free leaflets of walk routes and a map of the park from Tourist Info in Buxton, or at the visitor centre.
