Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Castle ruins dog walk, Scotland

Who loves a brooding, romantic castle ruin? This is the place to take a break and enjoy a short stroll with the dog across the marshes to a 15th century crumbling fortress. Expect to see Highland Cattle at rather close quarters too.

GPS coords for car park: 56.4073, -5.0182 What3Words: ///before.wager.parked  Post code is for a nearby golf club.  Snack van with a range of burgers, try the Hot Highlander with jalapenos!  Portaloos by the snack van.  Gift shop.

Take the path from the car park to the ruins of the 15th century castle.  It's an on-lead walk for dogs because of the sheep and cattle on the marshes. There's a small area before the entrance gate and under the railway bridge where dogs can swim in the river.
