If seaside time-travel appeals, then a visit to Cayeux is unmissable. The beach huts, neatly lined alongside the long promenade, are pure 1950s and look fantastic. Children are treated to an almost Enid Blyton era seaside experience, with old-fashioned and charming carousel on the sea front. Dogs get a good deal too, with many of the cafes and shops providing huge water bowls for thirsty canines.
