This is a small but beautiful riverside park and has the remains of a Norman motte and bailey castle, although there's not much left to see. Plenty of dog walks here and it's an ideal place to relax.
Picnic area, visitor centre, P&D car park.
There's a good choice of paths to follow and it's a real pleasure to walk through the woodlands to the banks of the River Stour. There are a number of trails including a history trail, nature trail and railway walk. If you wish, it's possible to follow the local path network into the fields beyond Clare.
Well-behaved dogs are allowed inside the remains of the castle, although they need to keep away from the children's play area and picnic areas.
