Cluanie Inn and Lauder Bakehouse, Scotland

Some pub opening times and dog rules are still changing. Please check your chosen pub is able to welcome you before making plans.

Description

Expect a warm, friendly greeting at both the hotel and its Bakehouse directly opposite.  It's more like a caravanserai on the A87, with all your needs catered for.  The hotel is dog-friendly and visiting dogs are welcome in several areas downstairs. The snacks and pastries from the Bakehouse are just wonderful.

Also fuel sales on the hotel side of the road, although pricey. The next reliable fuel station is at Kyle (heading towards Skye).

Walk

The hotel is set in a 9-acre estate, but sheep are also residents.  We had intended to explore a track leading down to the loch, but on the day didn't fancy walking along the busy A87 to the start of the track. So in the end we stocked up on lovely snacks from the Bakehouse and had a picnic by the river from the Battle of Glenshiel car park a few minutes down the road (heading towards Skye).
