Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Edited: 12th April 2020

Cotgrave Country Park dog walk, Nottinghamshire

This walk lies along the towpath of the disused Grantham canal - now a haven for wildlife. And dogs.

Dog poo bins near the car park.

One small car park leads to a choice of routes alongside the Grantham canal in the Cotgrave Country Park.

There's a circular route - down one side of the canal and back up the other side -  on the car park side of the road. The canal is quite overgrown and un-navigable.

And a 'there and back' across the road, which is slightly more interesting as the canal is in better condition due to an ongoing dredging program and there are more birds and waterlife to be seen from the towing path.

The paths are reasonably well-maintained and level, both buggies and wheelchairs are better off across the road from the car park.

These are both lovely rural routes, and ideal for peaceful dog walking.
