Deeside Railway Line dog walk, Scotland

Walk along the Old Deeside Railway line between Ballater and Dinnet. Its approx 13 miles back and fore which may be too much, so park at the Ballater end, then walk from the refurbished railway station the 6.5 miles to Dinnet. Have a quick drink at the outside tables of the Dinnet hotel then take bus back to Ballater. Walk is fairly level with one road crossing near Ballater end.

Check the bus timetable, walking one way only will take about 2 hours. Give yourself time to have a relaxing seat in the garden outside the hotel

From the newly refurbished railway station in the centre of Ballater walk east along the now disused railway line.  After about a mile carefully cross the A96 and carry  straight on to the village of Dinnet.  Straight route all the way and pretty much flat.  Route mostly hardstanding.
