Long stretch of beach and dunes with lots of free parking in various areas along the main road.

Refreshments in the village, pub, fish and chips etc.   Three car parks by the beach in Allonby. The first two (coming from Maryport) are good for just the beach and the third is near a small supermarket, cafe and ice creams.

Nice walk no toilets !

We enjoy walks here but our 3 dogs are reactive which means we can’t access pubs, dog friendly cafes so we are dependent upon public toilet facilities. There were 2 toilets but one is now permanently closed and the other has been closed through the off season so beware and make sure you know where you can go.

This is a real downside of this great walking beach. Also very little choice of food. The ice cream place is very popular in season but that’s because it’s a thing to do rather than the taste. We tried it and it was quite watery tasting and had a lot of ice crystals.

Nice place for a short walk but don’t expect a lot.
