Dog walk on the ancient Ridgeway Trail, Oxfordshire

Description

Great chance to take the dog for walkies on one of the nation's best loved trails, and enjoy the views, fresh air and heritage.

Details

GPS coords for car park: 51.5621, -1.3404  It's signed 'Ridgeway Trail' and is at the end of an access lane. The postcode is for a farm just beyond the car park.

Walk

You are on the famous Ridgeway path at this car park so you can happily choose your route from here. We decided to avoid the horse gallops and set off left from the car park. This way passes close to Scutchamer Knob, a large Iron Age burial chamber which is well worth a look. Take your time to enjoy the views on this fairly flat walk and turn around when you're ready.
