Drummore - Ship Inn and Mariners Cafe, Scotland

Some pub opening times and dog rules are still changing. Please check your chosen pub is able to welcome you before making plans.

Description

A small harbour village very close to the most southerly point of Scotland. You'll probably only come here if you're exploring around the ferry ports before a trip to Ireland, but the dog-friendly Mariner's cafe does a cracking breakfast and the equally dog-friendly pub has a fine traditional sea shanty gang. Quirky and authentic Rhins life and culture.

Details

Parking on the seafront. It's a small harbour village with no car park - just don't block the way to/from the harbour.

Pub or Cafe Address

Shore Street, Drummore, DG9 9PU

Open

Open daily. Food served at lunchtime and then 5pm to 8pm. For seasonal opening hours and food service times please check their FB page.

Delicious cakes and scones available most of the day. Good fish menu and daily specials at very reasonable prices. For full menu information, allergens, specials, prices and reservations please check their FB page.

Dog Rules

Dogs welcome - but look out for the somewhat territorial Sinbad the Whippet. He's not the pub dog, but seems to think he is!

Services

Walk

For a quick sniff around before a session of shanty singing in the pub the harbour front is your best option. For a longer walk, Drummore is on the Mull of Galloway Trail and this is signed from Shore Road. We prefer to cut out the road walking and start the walk from a picnic pull-in a mile or so down the road.  Or take a hike along the dog-friendly beach at New England Bay just before Drummore itself.
