A fun dog walk to the top of Dunkery Beacon. It's the highest point in Exmoor and you can enjoy fabulous views from the top on a clear day.
There are a couple of free car parks. The best one is the first one you come to (from Timberscombe) and just after a cattle grid. No dog bins. Be aware of the possibility of Exmoor ponies and cattle grazing for conservation. The postcode is approximate.
From the 1st car park after the cattle grid (as above) take the first signed path on the left. After a short way the path forks and you take the right hand fork. Keep going until you reach a path crossroads and then turn right and aim straight for the beacon.
Enjoy the view, and then come down again on a path parallel to your way up.
This isn't a massive climb, the highest point in Exmoor is only 520 or so meters!
