Hartington dog walk on the Tissington Trail, Derbyshire
Description
The Tissington Trail runs for 13 miles between Ashbourne and Parsley Hay, and was once a railway line. Now it's popular with dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Details
There are many places to start a walk on the Tissington Trail, and the P&D car parks are well signposted. This car park, Hartington, has excellent public WCs and a signal box with picnic tables.
The path is generally flat and OK for buggies and wheelchairs in dry weather. Expect soft muddy patches after a lot of rain.
In July and August the trail tends to attract hundreds of cyclists, and the trail's a much better walk on weekdays in school term time.
Walk
An easy access walk with the dog. This is a multi-user path on a former railway so there are no steep gradients.
