Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Edited: 22nd November 2018

Hill Fort dog walk, Northamptonshire

Description

This ancient hill is an ideal place for dogs to let off steam. And while the pooch does the doggy stuff, why not take a look at the site of an Iron Age hill fort on the top of the hill?

There's lots of history here, not just Celts and Romans, but also a railway museum and ironstone railway system.

Details

Free parking, with height restriction to car park. Dog poo bins throughout.

Walk

Walk to the end of the car park to follow the clear track over the gated level crossing and into the country park.

There are clear, wide muddy tracks through the woodland with plenty of running space for dogs.

Lots of dogs clearly enjoy a regular walk here, and we found a very sociable group of them on the right hand side after the level crossing. Expect a warm welcome and lively conversation from the locals!
