Traditional 17th century inn, with some good and tasty rustic menu choices. Dip your toes in the stream in summer or snuggle up to the woodburner in winter. What smells nicer than a steaming dog?!
Close to Cleeve Abbey (English Heritage)
The White Horse is really close to the remains of Cleeve Abbey - and the grounds are quite good for a dog walk. Dogs are welcome in the grounds, but must be on-lead. The remains of the abbey are well worth seeing. If there are two or more people with the dog you can take it in turns to go in, otherwise Fido has to sit in the car. The Abbey is closed in Winter (end-October to the end of March typically).
