Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Kingsgate Bay dog-friendly beach, Kent

Description

Really nice sandy beach, and dogs are welcome at Kingsgate all year round.  The beach is overlooked by the Captain Digby Inn (dogs at outside tables), definitely a place to check out if you want to know about the smugglers of old and tales of derring-do. The cliffs beneath the pub are riddled with caves where contraband used to be stored.  The slightly mad castle at the end of the beach is an 18th century confection, and a private residence.

Details

GPS coords for steps down to the beach: 51.3835, 1.4420  The only parking for KIngsgate Bay is at the Captain Rigby. It is free for their customers only, otherwise there's a jaw-dropping £10 charge. Easier to buy a lemonade!

Walk

There is a steep flight of steps to get down to the beach.
