Langold Country Park dog walks, Nottinghamshire

Covering nearly 300 acres, Langold Country Park is a popular dog walking site for local residents, and has a good mix of manicured lawns, rougher dog romping space and a lake.

Satnav coords for car park: 53.3729, -1.1291. Just Three Words: prank.gushes.uproot. WC+disabled.  Refreshment kiosk, cafe, children's play area - and splashing. Dog poo bins.

There are a number of clearly signed walks within the park: the Lakeside walk (orange), the Old Sidings Walk (blue) and the “Long Wood” walk (green). The paths are clear and well maintained.  We took Jem on the lakeside walk, a circular trail which took in surrounding meadows as well as the lake, where he really let off some steam.

Not easy to find!

This postcode took me to a row of shops and then abandoned me! With help from the Langold Park website I found that it is at the end of Church Street. Si I drove just past the end of the shops and turned right then first left into Church Street, Langold. Still not convinced I went to the end and round a sharp left turn and there it was!! Well worth the effort. I could park on the approach road. Lots of parking spaces for blue badge holders in the car park. There were 2 fields to throw a ball, a lake walk and children’s playground but we chose a woodland path on the left that eventually opened out into a huge playing field. I will go back to explore further another time.

Doggy lake swim

Really big site, it was incredibly popular with families when we went there as there is a a big children’s playground with water fountains. The car park was packed. Past the children’s play area is a huge lake with a walking path around it, the dog enjoyed a swim in the lake. We only stopped for a short while but I noticed a few signs around directing you to dog walking routes through the woods which looked nice. Overall a very nice stop just a shame it was so packed!
