Lovely River Walk and Disused Railway Line, Tyne and Wear

Description

Only 2 miles off the A1, an ideal place to walk the dogs with a variety of walks on paths. Lots of off lead areas and the River Derwent for a doggie cool down. Nice cafe on site with food and drinks as well as an outside seating area for those nicer days.

Details

GPS coords for car park: 54.9429, -1.7107  Famous area for the release site of Red Kites. Very good chance of spotting them, especially around the viaduct where the views are excellent.

Walk

From the car park walk past the cafe and the various walks are on boards with maps of the riverside or the railwayline walk. Very easy, few hills and good footpaths.
