Description
This country park has several marked trails of varying lengths, all nicely marked and easy to follow. The walk can also be reached easily from the M27 Junction 7.

Car park charge. Open 0830 to dusk. WC, café, visitor centre, children's play area, electric scooter hire from visitor centre, dog poo bags from visitor centre (not free), dog poo bins. This is an extract from Eastleigh Council's website for dog walkers: Dogs are welcome at Itchen Valley Country Park and may be let off the lead on all parts of High Hill Field (the large recreation field at the top of the main driveway). Owners are still expected to keep their dog under control at all times. Please remember that what you view as "friendly" behaviour from your dog may be viewed as unwanted attention or threatening behaviour to others. Dogs must be kept on a lead in all other areas, including the woodland trails and in the nature reserves. Dogs (except guide dogs) are not allowed in the visitor centre, cafe or play areas. The entire Park is covered by a "poop-scoop" by-law, which means that you must pick up after your dog in all areas. Dog bins are situated behind the visitor centre and around the edge of High Hill Field.
Walk
There's plenty of choice here to satisfy the needs of dog walkers with five marked trails starting from the visitor centre. The obvious choice is the Paw Trail, a route made specifically for dog walkers. This is a 30 minute walk on a leafy, well-maintained path that includes a large open area that's perfect for doggy ball games. Disabled Facilities This place is 'Five Star' for the disabled. There is a myriad of pathways through the woodland, and gravel paths around much of the huge open green spaces, all in excellent condition. Just a great place to be in, and feel normal, able almost to go wherever everybody else can. The Loo is modern, bright, spacious and clean. The picnic areas are paved and have plentiful seating. My dogs just loved this, for the green spaces where they could gallop, and for the excitement of the woodland scents. It deserves a visit of a few hours at least!! Worth a visit
Only couple miles from motorway but loads roundabouts and traffic lights which makes it feel further. But ideal for walking when we got there, every where clearly labeled for children, horses and dogs, will go again
