Green 139 PointsA lovely walk with a bit of something for everyone
A lovely walk with a bit of something for everyone. You can go ‘out-and-back’ along the canal or do a loop through Spud Wood. A lovely quiet spot with friendly locals and plenty of space for the dogs to have a good, off-lead leg stretcher!

Popular local spot
The car park is small and was full on a Sunday morning, but there is space on the road for a few cars - though that space was seeing good use too.
We walked around Spud Wood, which is a pleasant spot - though the footing was a bit soft in early September, so could be quite muddy in the winter and it clearly gets a good deal of use from local dog walkers of whom we saw quite a few. Quite a few paths so scope for some variety of route. We went east, looped around along the southern boundary through a mixture of grass paths and earth in the woods.
We then went out onto the road at the western end and returned along the canal towpath which has firmer footing than the wood.
