Before starting the walk it's worth having a look at what could well be the most dramatic car park in the UK, where peregrine falcons and little owls nest in the austere cliffs of a former quarry. You might also see climbers hanging onto the steep rock face.
The walk starts on a single path near to the entrance to the car park. Follow it, past a stone seat with a fine view over Morecombe Bay on a good day. Then go down a few steps and through a wooden kissing gate to enter the nature reserve.
Walk with the wall to the right hand side until a clear path leads up the hill to two wooden gates. Continue through these to follow the path uphill with the fence to the right.
We turned round after 20 minutes, but there is plenty more walking to be had by staying on the same path.
Return to the car park on the same path through the woodland.
