Bowlee Park, between Oldham and Bury, is much bigger than you might think at first, and there is good dog walking to be had here.
Free car park, small children's play area, other facilities only available when there are events on at the park.
Walk to the end of the car park, through the gate, and turn right down the metalled lane. This is part of the Rochdale Way. This lane brings you out into a large open area. Bear round this to the left. At the first corner you will see three paths – turn left here
This is a metalled track that heads off into an area that has trees on both sides of the path. The land on the left soon opens out to wider grassier land. Cross over a lane and continue ahead along the unmaintained track with trees on the right and grass on the left. This path gets muddy in wet weather.
After crossing a wooden bridge there is a choice of turning left or right. The right turn leads towards more countryside, the left turn takes you back to the car park.
