Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

M65 Junction 4 Sunnyhurst Wood dog walk, Lancashire

Premium

Description

There are two marked trails through the 85 acre woodland here, one with no steps or stiles. If you choose the tower walk, it is apparently possible to see Wales from the top on a good day!

The woodland is great for dogs to sniff all sorts of rural delights, and is popular with local dog-walkers.

Regular walk - and my favourite

We've been walking her for about 9 years. There are several paths through the woods, a bit rough in places. You can walk along the river and then up towards the reservoir. After that, you can walk along the private road by the reservoir and continue up the hill. A short distance up here you can take a left and get back into the woods. Alternatively, you can walk up towards the tower.

Unfortunately, the cafe in the woods does not allow dogs to be taken in.

A hidden gem! Some lovely woodland walks and a fabulous little cafe (only open on certain days). Will certainly be going back again.
