Cross over the Forth and Clyde Canal onto the west side of Speirs Wharf then follow canal towpath in a northernly direction for 3km until reaching Maryhill locks. To return to car either reverse route along towpath or after locks take footpath on left and drop down to the River Kelvin and follow footpath through Botanic Gardens until reaching Kelvin Bridge, climb steps after going under bridge to reach Great Western Road, cross road and turn right. At end of road cross and continue straight ahead into New City Road to pass under motorway to reach Garscube Road A 81 turn left and ahead cross road by footbridge, take steps to your right to return to start of walk at Speirs Wharf
