M8 junction 8 dog walk near Coatbridge, Scotland

A glorious 500 acres of dog walking in this country park - formerly a private estate.

Visitor Centre opening hours: April, May and September 1030- 1700; June, July and August 1030-1730; October - March 1030-16.00

Cafeteria, picnic sites, nature trails, boat hire (hire charge)

Marked trails within the park.

There are even two lochs in the grounds and, according to the info from the visitor centre, these (as well as the bigger more famous ones) were gouged out by passing glaciers at the end of the last ice age. Wow!

Watch out for deer, as well as geese and ducks by the visitor centre.
