Basic country pub with food and a log fire

Bar food and a few real ales.

Pub Address

For seasonal opening hours and food service times please check their website

Menu Style

Pub was operating a limited menu when we visited so dificult to say what it is like normally, but there was a choice of hot meals and the Chilli and the Hotpot that we tried were both tasty meals after a winter walk.

For full menu information, allergens, specials, prices and reservations please check their website.

Dog Rules

Dogs allowed in the bar - food served in this area

We visited after a walk starting from Tegg's Nose Visitors' Centre which is about 5 minutes drive away from the pub (although the most direct route involves a very narrow lane not suitable for caravans). Routes along the Gritstone Trail are waymarked from the Visitors' Centre. The pub is right next to an aqueduct carrying the Macclesfield Canal over the road and there are steps up to the canal from the road.
