A dog walk in the steps of a bandit, Shropshire

Premium

Some pub opening times and dog rules are still changing. Please check your chosen pub is able to welcome you before making plans.

Description

An atmospheric walk in the footsteps of the outlaw 'Wild Humphrey Kynaston' - sometimes, and rather oddly, called the 'Shropshire Robin Hood'. There's no band of merrie green-clad boys and gals in this tale though, the murderous bandit lived in the caves on this very hill with just his loyal horse Beelzebub for company.

It's an easy walk to the famous caves of Kynaston although there's no access to their innards or, if you prefer your historical walking to be more law-abiding, there's also an ancient hill fort.
