Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Edited: 3rd December 2018

Newry Canal dog walk from Portadown, NI

This is the first section of the 18 mile Newry Canal Way which runs from Portadown to Newry. The canal is no longer in use, and the towpath is now a leisure route.

The path is accessible to wheelchair users, and makes buggy walking easy too. Watch out for cyclists though, as this is also a cycle route.

Food and facilities available in Portadown.

This is a walk with no gradients to worry about. Just make sure that you are walking in the direction of Newry with the canal on the left.
