Smart dog-friendly dining and a relaxing dog walk by the river. In days of yore, think highwaymen and powdered wigs, this used to be a coaching inn and it's still a perfect place to break a journey.
|Pub or Cafe Address||
on the A539, Overton Bridge, LL13 0DR
Open 7 days. Lunch served daily from 12 noon. For seasonal opening hours and food service times please check their website.
Dogs of the well behaved and on-the leash variety are welcome away from dining areas.
There is a small step up into the pub, but there is a small ramp to enable wheelchairs to gain access. There is a disabled loo.
Cross the road in front of the pub with care, and go through the wooden gate with footpath sign. Head downhill and join the river path and walk with the water on your right side. It's a lovely walk, with small beaches where dogs can safely paddle and play in the water. After around 20 minutes of walking over a mix of pasture and crop fields you'll reach a small woodland. This is a good place to turn round and return for a 40 minute dog walk. The river water always makes Jem's coat shine and he loves the beaches. Don't forget that the water is always cold from the mountain streams, and can chill dogs even on hot days.
